A video game industry exhibition curated by IIDEA opened today at the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy
Rome, 5 November 2025 – This afternoon, in the presence of Minister Adolfo Urso, the exhibition ‘Videogiochi. Oltre l’intrattenimento” (Video Games. Beyond Entertainment) was inaugurated at Palazzo Piacentini, the historic headquarters of the Ministry of Enterprises and the Made in Italy brand.
Promoted by IIDEA (Italian Interactive Digital Entertainment Association), the exhibition will be open to the public from 6 to 14 November.
Between 2019 and 2024, the video game industry grew by 24%, reaching a total value of €26.8 billion and employing more than 116,000 qualified professionals across Europe. Almost half of the European population aged 6–64 plays video games, with balanced gender representation (45% women) and an average age of 31.
In this context, Italy ranks among the top five European markets for video game consumption, and is also emerging as a producer with enormous growth potential for Italian companies and professionals.
The exhibition explores the video game sector through four main dimensions:
Culture and creativity: video games as a new frontier of ‘Made in Italy’, combining technology and creativity to showcase Italian excellence to a global audience.
Education: Video games as an educational space for learning, building skills, developing talent and transforming experience into professional opportunities.
Responsibility: Video games as a safe entertainment environment thanks to the industry’s commitment to ensuring responsible play through the Pan European Game Information (PEGI) age classification system, code of conduct, parental controls and awareness initiatives for families.
Innovation: Video games as a laboratory for technological experimentation capable of transforming products, services and processes beyond entertainment and across traditional and emerging industries.
The exhibition will be open to the public free of charge from 7 to 14 November. It will be open from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm on Saturdays and Sundays, and from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm from Monday to Friday.
